Three films for the third chapter of Moncler Genius, and Richard Quinn’s first collection for the house. The films travelled across Moncler’s global channels to more than 35 million views.
The collection is built on prints, and a print is flat. Here they leave the garment: down a bear’s back, along a giraffe’s neck, into the ground the models are standing on.
Each collage arrived as a finished image: hundreds of layers compressed into a single plane. In Cinema 4D the composition was taken apart and rebuilt as a traversable set — cutouts scaled and spaced across foreground, midplane and backdrop, alignments held so that the original framing survives from one specific camera position. At the centre of each scene stands a hero animal, built in 3D and textured with prints from the collection.
The camera moves slowly, passing through framed layers and open silhouettes. Relations that were flattened in two dimensions separate and resolve as it travels: a flower behind a horn, a horizon behind a body, a pattern that turns out to be a wall. Nothing is keyframed. One rule holds the whole build together — only the camera moves, everything else is placed once and stays.
